Candyman: the new trailer for Nia DaCosta's horror film.

Universal has released the new trailer for Candyman, the horror film directed by Nia DaCosta (Little Woods).
Produced by Jordan Peele (Escape - Get Out, Us) in collaboration with MGM/Universal, Candyman has been called a "spiritual sequel" to Candyman - Terror Behind the Mirror (1992) and features the return of the iconic Tony Todd, the star of the 1992 film and the two sequels Hell in the mirror (1995) e Candyman - Day of Death (1999).

In fact, the story takes place in the Chicago neighborhood where it all began: the violent and run-down Cabrini-Green where Candyman was murdered.
Plot: artist Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) investigates Candyman, a former slave who fell in love with a white woman but was burned alive after being covered in honey and stung by bees. Legend has it that if someone repeats five times his name in front of the mirror, he will summon him but at the cost of his own life.
His career as a painter is now on the wane, and Anthony decides to dedicate a work specifically to Candyman. In doing so, however, the artist will open a doorway into the past that will trigger a series of terrifying and bloody events.

The screenplay of Candyman was written by Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld while the cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Teyonah Parris, Colman Domingo, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Kyle Kaminsky, Nadia Simms and Aaron Crippen.
The US release date has been set for September 25, 2020.
