After several postponements, Universal has set a new release date for Candyman, l'horror diretto da Nia DaCosta (Little Woods). Prodotto da Jordan Peele (Scappa – Get Out, Noi) in collaborazione con MGM/Universal, Candyman will debut in US theaters on August 27, 2021.
This is the sequel to Candyman - Terror Behind the Mirror (1992), a film directed by Bernard Rose and starring the iconic Tony Todd.
La storia di questo nuovo capitolo si svolge nel degradato Cabrini-Green dove è stato assassinato Candyman. L’artista Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) si trasferisce a Chicago insieme alla sua fidanzata. Qui l’uomo si interesserà all'uomo della leggenda e gli dedicherà anche un’opera. In questo modo però l’artista aprirà inconsapevolmente un varco nel passato che non solo metterà a rischio la sua salute mentale ma che scatenerà anche una serie di terrificanti e sanguinosi eventi.
The screenplay of Candyman was written by Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld while the cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Colman Domingo, Teyonah Parris, Kyle Kaminsky, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Nadia Simms and Aaron Crippen.
The film marks the return of Tony Todd.
