Brian De Palma (The Phantom of the Stage, Carrie - The Look of Satan, Fury) has revealed that he is involved in a horror project dedicated to the Weinstein scandal (2017). This was revealed by the director himself to the French daily newspaper Le Parisien.
De Palma is ready to tackle the immoral case that has rocked Hollywood by writing a horror-tinged story inspired by Harvey Weinstein, an influential figure in the American film industry. The man has been accused of harassment, assault and sexual assault by about a hundred female figures (including Asia Argento, Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett) belonging to the film industry.
Harvey Weinstein was fired from his company (Weinstein Company) soon after the initial allegations and expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and other professional associations as well.
A few months ago, Brad Pitt was also interested in buying the rights to the story in order to make a film of it.
