Brandon, il figlio dell'immenso Cronenberg, ha esordito nel 2012 con il suo primo lungometraggio dal titolo Antiviral. After five years of silence, he returns to the control booth to deal with the Dragon, un thriller fantascientifico/horror che, a detta del filmmaker, potrebbe esser considerato l'adattamento di un romanzo di Philip K. Dick (lo scrittore de "Il cacciatore di androidi", opera da cui è stato tratto il film Blade Runner).
Brandon Cronenberg also added that in Dragon saranno affrontati "i piaceri dell'horror spaziale in un universo satirico e psicotico". La sceneggiatura sarà a firma dello stesso regista in collaborazione con Dan Abnett (Marvel Comics) mentre Luc Roeg e Martin Katz sono i produttori del film. Le riprese di Dragon saranno avviate nel 2018.
Plot: In the near future, society will be radically transformed due to the discovery of ancient organic life forms that are part of the cosmos. Their alien biochemistry has in fact been transformed to create an extremely profitable drug that will serve as a drug. A captain and his crew will set out to search for these creatures in space in order to secure a comfortable future.
