World premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival last August 5, Brain Freeze (2021) is a Canadian zombie movie written and directed by Julien Knafo (Lucidité passagère).
The story features an exclusive golf club that, in order to enjoy its year-round course, requests the intervention of a biotech company specializing in fertilizers.
Plot: In early winter, a golf club asks a multinational corporation to genetically modify the land to remain open year-round. The local water is thus contaminated with a revolutionary fertilizer that has the advantage of melting snow but, at the same time, turns the inhabitants into the living dead.
Orphaned, 13-year-old André will try to protect his one-year-old sister and survive the terrible epidemic with her. The two little survivors will be joined by Dan, a 50-year-old security guard who ends up taking them right into the golf club chalet.
In the cast of Brain Freeze we find Iani Bédard (André), Roy Dupuis (Dan) and Marianne Fortier, Anne-Élisabeth Bossé, Claudia Ferri, Mylène Mackay, Stéphane Crête, Louis-Georges Girard, Mahée Paiement and Simon-Olivier Fecteau.
