This is thus the American answer to the Eastern series (Guinea Pig) started in 1985 by Hideshi Hino, a splatter genre saga consisting of six episodes and some making-offs (The Devil's Experiment, Flower of Flesh and Blood, He Never Dies, Mermaid in a Manhole, Devil Woman Doctor and Slaughter Special) and became famous for its extremely realistic special effects for which it was mistakenly thought to be a snuff movie.
Indeed, the Japanese series is characterized by an overdose of gore and violence. Elements, the latter, that seem to be largely taken up by the American project whose trailer for the first episode can be viewed (Bouquet of Guts and Gore) at the bottom of the article. As in The Devil's Experiment of the Japanese saga, also in American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore a girl is abducted, subjected to a variety of tortures, and killed. The video in particular features the stages of dismemberment, evisceration, and skinning of the bodies of two young women.
To direct American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore is Stephen Biro (Brainjacked, Gator Green) of the production company Unearthed Films. The director also handled the film's screenplay. The director of photography is James VanBebber, while special effects are by Marcus Koch. The cast features James VanBebber himself along with Rogan Russell, Marshall Scott Gabbey, and musician Eight The Chosen One.
