20th Century Studios has released the first images of Boston Strangler, il thriller su Albert Henry DeSalvo (1931-1973), stupratore e assassino noto come lo "Strangolatore di Boston".
Directed by Matt Ruskin (Booster) and starring Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon, Boston Strangler è incentrato su Loretta McLaughlin e Jean Cole, le giornaliste che negli anni '60 indagarono sull'assassino che aveva ucciso tredici donne (di età compresa tra i 19 e gli 85 anni), terrorizzando la città dal 1962 al 1964. Boston Strangler will arrive in the US directly on Hulu on March 17, 2023, while in Italy it will debut on Disney+ Star.
The film will be accompanied by a three-part podcast produced by ABC Audio and featuring Dick Lehr, a journalist and former reporter for the The Boston Globe. The basis of the podcast will be the stories of the Strangler's victims.
Plot: as a mysterious killer reaps more victims, journalist Loretta McLaughlin attempts to investigate his identity with the help of trusted colleague and friend Jean Cole (Carrie Coon). Despite the sexism of the time getting in their way, the two women will bravely put their lives on the line in their search for the truth.
In addition to Keira Knightley (The Curse of the First Moon) and Carrie Coon (Avengers: Infinity War), the cast also includes Alessandro Nivola, David Dastmalchian, Morgan Spector, Bill Camp, and Chris Cooper.
The film is produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Kevin J. Walsh, Josey McNamara and Tom Ackerley.
