Online the official trailer for Borderlands, the new film featuring Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel, The Green Inferno) as director, Borderlands is the film adaptation of the science fiction genre video game franchise of the same name whose story takes place on the fictional planet Pandora, where colonists are searching for the Crypt, a giant alien bunker said to contain valuable technology and priceless secrets.
Produced by Lionsgate, the film will arrive in U.S. theaters on August 9.
Borderlands stars Cate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit), Jack Black (Final Nightmare, King Kong), Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt, and Gina Gershon.
The screenplay for the film, on the other hand, was written by Aaron Berg and Craig Mazin while producing is Avi and Ari Arad with their Arad Prods along with Erik Feig and his Picturestart.
The story stars Lilith (Cate Blanchett), a notorious outlaw with a mysterious past who reluctantly returns to her home planet Pandora to search for the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramirez), the most powerful person in the universe. For the mission, Lilith puts together a team consisting of Roland (Kevin Hart), a former mercenary; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a wild preteen ; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina's muscular protector; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), a scientist; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a wise robot.
These unlikely heroes will have to fight alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe will be in their hands.
