The survival horror Black Water: Abyss (Australia, USA - 2020) will debut in U.S. theaters and arrive on VOD platforms on August 7 with Screen Media.
Written by John Ridley and Sarah Smith, Black Water: Abyss is directed by Andrew Traucki, the director of The Reef and the "G is for Gravity” presente nell'horror corale The ABCs of Death.
Black Water: Abyss is the sequel to Black Water, a film directed by Traucki himself in 2007.
Plot: An adventure-loving couple convinces their friends to explore an ancient cave system in the forests of northern Australia. Unfortunately, a violent storm will strand them in the mouth of the cave where they must defend themselves against a pack of dangerous and hungry crocodiles. Making matters worse will be some long-standing secrets that, once they surface, will destroy their friendship.
In the cast of Black Water: Abyss feature Jessica McNamee, Luke Mitchell, Amali Golden, Anthony J. Sharpe, and Benjamin Hoetjes.
As in the 2007 film, the use of CGI in this new chapter is limited and real crocodiles were used.
