The UK poster of the survival horror is online Black Water: Abyss (Australia, USA - 2020), the sequel to Black Water (2007). The film will be released on July 10 in UK theaters while the U.S. release has been set for August 7 with Screen Media, a date that coincides with the video-on-demand date.
Written by John Ridley and Sarah Smith, Black Water: Abyss is directed by Andrew Traucki, the director of The Reef and the "G is for Gravity" featured in the horror anthology The ABCs of Death.
Plot: A group of friends venture into the forests of Northern Australia to explore an ancient cave system. Unfortunately, a violent storm will strand them in the very mouth of the cave where they must defend themselves against a pack of dangerous and hungry crocodiles. Worsening the situation will be some long-standing secrets that, once they surface, will shatter friendship relationships creating more tension and rivalry.
In the cast of Black Water: Abyss: Jessica McNamee, Amali Golden, Luke Mitchell, Anthony J. Sharpe, and Benjamin Hoetjes.
As in the 2007 film, the use of CGI in this new chapter is limited and real crocodiles were used.
