Online a new official image of Black Phone (USA - 2021), the horror film written and directed by Scott Derrickson, the director of Ultimatum to the earth, Sinister and Deliver us from evil.
Produced by Blumhouse, Black Phone is the film adaptation of Joe Hill's short story of the same name and will debut in U.S. theaters on February 4, 2022.
The film stars Ethan Hawke, an American actor, screenwriter and director has previously worked with Scott Derrickson on the film Sinister (2012). In Black Phone, Ethan Hawke is a sadistic kidnapper and killer of children.
Plot: 13-year-old Finney Shaw (Mason Thames) is abducted by a serial killer who has already killed several minors. Locked in a soundproof basement, the young boy finds an old disconnected telephone. At night, mysteriously, the device is able to transmit the voices of previous victims trying to help him escape.
The cast also includes Mason Thames, James Ransone, Jeremy Davies and Madeleine McGraw.
The screenplay, on the other hand, was written by Scott Derrickson himself in collaboration with Robert Cargill.
The masks worn by Ethan Hawke in the film were designed and made by renowned U.S. effects designer Tom Savini (Zombies, Friday the 13th, Maniac, Day of the Zombies) in collaboration with Jason Baker for Callosum Studios.
