Jordan Peele, the director of Escape - Get Out and We, will produce the remake of The Black House (aka The People Under The Stairs), the horror film written and directed by the celebrated Wes Craven in 1991.
Director and producer Jordan Peele has already struck a production deal with Universal Pictures. Currently, the name of the director has not yet been revealed.
Starring Brandon Quintin Adams, Everett McGill, Wendy Robie, A.J. Langer, Jeremy Roberts and Ving Rhames, Wes Craven's film is a dark fairy tale in which there is a strong social satire. A feature, the latter, that is likely to be present in the remake as well.
Ne The black house three thieves (Adams, Rhames, and Roberts) sneak into the home of the wealthy Robesons (McGill and Robie) to rob them. Among the three is Grullo, a young black boy who needs money for his mother's operation, and Leroy, a petty thief convinced that the targeted family is in possession of a wonderful coin collection. Once inside the house, however, the intruders will be confronted with a chilling reality that will force them to fight for their lives.
