As Dawn of the Dead by George A. Romero, also Black Friday chronicles the rush of consumerism but focusing on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, considered the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S.
Directed by Casey Tebo (Happy Birthday), Black Friday debuted in U.S. theaters on Nov. 19 while, starting on the 23rd, it will be available for video on demand, distributed by Screen Media.
Plot: toy store employees prepare to work on the most terrifying day of the year. Meanwhile, an alien parasite crashes to earth.
Led by store manager Jonathan (Bruce Campbell) and senior employee Ken (Devon Sawa), the entire staff soon finds itself battling a horde of infected customers bent on unleashing their murderous rampage during Black Friday.
Also in the cast are Devon Sawa (Final Destination), Ivana Baquero (The Faun's Labyrinth), Ryan Lee (Super 8), Stephen Peck, Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight) and Louie Kurtzman (The Wind Wlaker).
The screenplay is by Andy Greskoviak.
