According to Deadline, Bruce Dickinson, the frontman of the legendary Iron Maiden, has joined the cast of Bjorn of the Dead, the new horror film by Elza Kephart (Slaxx).
Dickinson's presence might suggest that Bjorn of the Dead sia un film sulla celebre band heavy metal britannica, in realtà la storia fa luce su alcune tribute band degli ABBA intrappolate in un nightclub all'inizio dell'apocalisse.
Presented as a gory gore and splatter show, Bjorn of the Dead avrà vari cameo dal mondo del rock e dell'heavy metal.
The screenplay is by Austin Dickinson, son of Bruce Dickinson, and is based on an original story by Andrew Prendergast (who also appears on the crew as a producer) and Austin Dickinson himself.
Trama: Bjorn, il leader degli Abbatoir, trascorre insieme alla sua band il fine settimana suonando i classici degli Abba in luoghi sempre più deprimenti: dalle case di riposo per anziani ai pub semivuoti. Il gruppo però ora è pronto a festeggiare il giorno in cui decide di partecipare al concorso "Battle Of The Bands" per tribute band al The Niney Dimey.
Qui, dopo aver caricato la propria attrezzatura per la competizione, le cose iniziano ad andare storte quando un disturbo nella sala principale del locale va rapidamente fuori controllo costringendo Bjorn e la sua band a raggiungere il backstage. Mentre gli Abattoir sono al sicuro, i membri feriti degli altri gruppi, iniziano a trasformarsi in non-morti assetati di sangue...
