15. Underworld: a commendable blockbuster horror saga centered on the struggle between vampires (Kate Beckinsale embodies the vampire Selene) and Lycans. The vampire's diary (Vampire Journals): certainly does not go unnoticed this spin-off of the saga Subspecies (consisting of four chapters) conceived and written by Charles Band and directed by Ted Nicolau. Melancholy and macabre in tone, The vampire's diary (1997) di Nicolau vede i vampiri Ash (Jonathon Morris) e Zachary (David Gunn) contendersi l'amore di Sofia (Kirsten Cerre).
12. Vampires: directed by John Carpenter in 1998, is influenced by elements of Western cinema and features a team of vampire hunters grappling with dangerous undead led by Valek (Thomas Ian Griffith). Dal Tramonto all'alba: From Dusk till Dawn è un vampire movie violento diretto da Robert RodrÃguez nel 1996 e vanta, nel cast, attori di spicco come George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis e Salma Hayek. Quest'ultima tra l'altro, nei panni di Santanico Pandemonium, è la protagonista di una sequenza erotico/horror divenuta ormai un cult.

The film enjoys a sequel Vampire Slayer 2 And a decent remake, Fright Night - The Vampire Next Door, made in 2011 by Craig Gillespie and starring Colin Farrell. There is also a sequel and reboot titled Fright Night 2- Fresh Blood (Fright Night 2- New blood) from 2013.

Dracula the Vampire (Dracula, Horror of Dracula) - directed by Terence Fisher in 1958, Dracula the Vampire is the first installment in the series on Count Dracula made by Hammer Film Productions and certainly one of the best. Playing the role of Count Dracula is the late, great Christopher Lee, an unforgettable horror icon who, among others, played this character in eleven other films (including seven of the above-mentioned Hammer-branded series).

L'attore ungherese infatti incarna un personaggio macabro ma allo stesso tempo carismatico ed elegante. Ne the vampire movie Near the Dark changes the classical conception of the vampire, represented here no longer elegant and romantic but violent and dirty. A kind of society's outcast.

Miriam wakes up at midnight (The Hunger): tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di Whitley Strieber, questo vampire movie classe 1983 di Tony Scott si distingue per l'eleganza nello stile registico, per la fotografia ricercata e per le straordinarie performance di Catherine Deneuve e David Bowie. Un film singolare nella storia, grazie alla maestosa sceneggiatura da Michael Thomas, Ivan Davis e James Costigan, e che vede la vampira Miriam (la Deneuve) cambiare marito ogni due-tre secoli. I suo amanti infatti, col tempo, tendono a perdere la loro eterna giovinezza, avvizzendo per poi trovare la morte.
4. Interview with the vampire – (Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles): il film (1994) è diretto da Neil Jordan ed è tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di Anne Rice.
In Interview with the vampire, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt e Antonio Banderas interpretano tre vampiri. Nel film di Jordan spicca la bravura di Brad Pitt nei panni di Louis de Pointe du Lac, un vampiro dai sentimenti nobili ma, ancor di più, è la prova recitativa sopra le righe di Tom Cruise che rimane impressa. Quest'ultimo infatti è Lestat, uno spietato non morto che decide di vampirizzare Louis per avere un compagno con cui condividere l'eternità .

Dracula by Bram Stoker - directed by Francis For Coppola in 1992, Dracula è ispirato all'omonimo romanzo scritto dall'irlandese Bram Stoker nel 1897 e ispirato alla figura di Vlad III Principe di Valacchia. Romanticismo, dramma e orrore si fondono insieme per un risultato eccezionale. Nel film di Coppola, Gary Oldman interpreta un indimenticabile Conte. Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins e Keanu Reeves sono rispettivamente Mina Harker, il professor Abraham Van Helsing e Jonathan Harker.
2. Nosferatu the Vampyre (Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht): un magnifico tributo al classico muto di Murnau. Un remake riuscito, realizzato nel 1979 e considerato un capolavoro. Il film è diretto da Werner Herzog ed è interpretato magistralmente da Klaus Kinski, qui nel ruolo del Conte Dracula. Herzog infatti propone una sorta di rivisitazione del film del 1922 presentando allo spettatore un vampiro triste che desidera la morte piuttosto che essere condannato a vivere per l'eternità .
