NEW FACE. - Often film productions decide to "invest" in half-unknown actors in order to bring new faces to the screen and, most importantly, to save on the budget. Probably for one of these two reasons (if not both), the 20th Century Fox chose from the shortlist of candidates for the lead role in the crazy Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the least known actor in the sextet, Benjamin Walker! Yes, the Fox could write Adrien Brody, Timothy Olyphant, Josh Lucas, James D'Arcy o Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and instead he preferred Walker, best known for his brief misadventure in the X-Men: First Class (He was to enter the project to play Beast, but dropped out to reprise his starring role in the Broadway musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). The young Benjamin will have to lend his face to an unedited version of the American president! According to the script of Seth Grahame-Smith (author of the book of the same name and of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.), Lincoln witnessed at the age of nine the death of his mother at the hands of an evil creature. After swearing revenge, Abraham will assume his presidential duties, but what few people know is that along with the fight against slavery, the president is waging a secret war against vampires.
To direct Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter meet Timur Bekmambetov, also linked to the project as a co-producer along with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley; if no unforeseen events arise, the film will be released on June 22, 2012.
