Before I wake (USA - 2015), the supernatural thriller directed by Mike Flanagan, the director of Oculus - The Reflection of Evil, will debut in U.S. theaters on May 8, 2015 while in our country it will be distributed by Koch Media at a date to be determined. The official trailer has also been available for a few days, which you can view at the bottom of the article. The screenplay for the film is by Mike Flanagan himself and Jeff Howard.
The story focuses on a child, eight-year-old Cody (Jacob Tremblay), who is adopted by husband and wife Jessie (Kate Bosworth) and Mark (Thomas Jane). However, the child manifests a certain form of terror toward sleep: he is afraid to sleep because of an evil presence that manifests itself in dreams. The two adults think that his malaise is temporary and that once he is integrated into the family unit he will be more peaceful. What they do not know, however, is that the child senses the dark presence in the house even while awake. The couple will investigate the little one's past to find out what lies behind his nightmares.
The cast of Before I wake, formerly known as Somnia, consists of Kate Bosworth, Thomas Jane, Annabeth Gish, Dash Mihok, and Jacob Tremblay, while Trevor Macy, Sam Englebardt, and William D. Johnson handled the production of the film.
