Beetlejuice 2: Jenna Ortega in talks to join cast

According to reports from Deadline, Jenna Ortega (Scream, Wednesday) is in talks to join the cast of Beetlejuice 2, the sequel to the fantasy horror Beetlejuice, the cult film directed by Tim Burton (Batman, Edward Many Scissors) in 1988 and winner of the "Oscar for Best Makeup."
Beetlejuice 2 is produced by Plan B Entertainment together with Warner Bros. and filming is scheduled to start in May, in London.

After the success of the TV series Wednesday, the young actress could then work together with Tim Burton again and step into the role of the daughter of Lydia Deetz, the character played by Winona Ryder in the 1988 film.

We remember you that Beetlejuice stars Alec Baldwin (Hunt for Red October), Geena Davis (The Fly), Winona Ryder (Bram Stoker's Dracula) and Michael Keaton (Batman), the latter as Beetlejuice.

The story follows a young married couple who die in a car accident. The two return as ghosts to their old home, which, however, is inhabited by a family of city waifs. After trying to chase them away by scaring them away, the two ghosts ask for help from Beetlejuice, a sympathetic, foul-mouthed, bumbling little spirit who is also prone to vile lusts.
