Produced by A24, Beau is Afraid is billed as a surreal horror comedy and stars Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix (Masters of the Night, Joker), here as Beau, a neurotic man who will make a bizarre journey to visit his mother.
The film will debut in U.S. theaters on April 21, 2023.
Plot: Beau è un uomo buono ma estremamente ansioso che non ha mai conosciuto il padre e che ha una relazione difficile con la madre, una donna prepotente. Quando quest'ultima muore, lui intraprenderà un difficile viaggio verso casa, durante il quale dovrà affrontare assurde minacce soprannaturali.
