The story of Barbarian fa luce su Tess (Georgina Campbell), una giovane donna diretta a Detroit per un colloquio di lavoro. La ragazza ha già prenotato una casa in affitto ma, una volta giunta sul posto a tarda notte, scopre che è già abitata da un misterioso uomo (Bill Skarsgård).
Seppur titubante, Tess decide di restare ma ben presto scoprirà che c’è molto di più da temere di un semplice ospite inaspettato.
Nel cast, oltre a Georgina Campbell, ci sono anche Justin Long (Drag Me to Hell, Tusk), Matthew Patrick Davis, Richard Brake, Kurt Braunohler e Jaymes Butler.
Barbarian è prodotto da Roy Lee (The Ring, The Grudge, IT, IT – Capitolo due) insieme a Raphael Margules e J.D. Lifshitz di Boulderlight e ad Arnon Milchan.
