Incisive Pictures has released the teaser trailer for Baphomet, the demonic horror film written and directed by Matthan Harris (The Infliction), here in his second feature film. The cast features Dani Filth, the frontman of Cradle of Filth (here as Lon Carlson, an occultist and witchcraft expert) and Italian actor Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Fear in the City of the Living Dead, Deliria).
In development since 2017, Baphomet was completed in September and will probably be released in 2021.
In addition to the two aforementioned actors, the cast includes Colin Ward, Rebecca Weaver, Ivy Opdyke, Charlotte Bjornbak, Gerardo Davila, Stephen Brodie (Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich), Nick Principe, Larry Jack Dotson, and director Matthan Harris himself.
The latter has acted in several films, mostly TV series, including his The Infliction but also in the choral horror German Angst ("Make a Wish" segment), Ciaran the Demon Hunter and in the thriller As Worlds Collide.
Plot: the Richardsons celebrate the pregnancy of their 28-year-old daughter. However, the celebration is interrupted when Aksel Brandr (Stephen Brodie), a member of a satanic cult, pays them an unexpected visit. The stranger offers the family a large sum of money in exchange for their property but Jacob Richardson (Colin Ward), the head of the family, declines the offer because of the priceless sentimental value.
Aksel and his cult thus begin to cast devastating curses on the Richardsons, trying to force them to leave their land, even if it means killing them.
After suffering unexplained tragedies, the Richardsons will turn to Marybeth, a priestess. They will later discover that a terrible secret is attached to their home, a cause of interest to the cult.
