Bad Better Deads 2 is a horror project that sees the collaboration of Cristiano Ciccotti and Daniele Misischia, two directors from the Italian independent scene who, among other things, also handled the subject, on the screenplay and also as directors. In addition, Ciccotti and Misischia have already collaborated together in the past in "Hobo" (Connections).
Bad Better Deads 2 is a zombies series consisting of as many as 12 episodes of about 15-20 minutes each. The story, with grotesque-ironic overtones, ranges between horror and action, taking inspiration from cult movies such as "The House" trilogy, "From Dusk to Dawn," "Machete," "Planet Terror," "Hyenas," "Resident Evil," and the famous TV series "The Walking Dead."
The story of Bad Better Deads 2 opens with a bleak scenario in which the earth is overrun by the living dead. Willfully causing the outbreak was Crowley (Manuel Rufini), a slimy man who lusts to become the master of the world. To achieve his goal, Crowley needs an amulet that, when worn, will be able to give him great power. Trying to thwart his actions will be Connor (Ettore Belmondo) and MacReady (Claudio Camilli), two men who have been turned into zombies but have retained a human consciousness. Together with Geena (Francesca Nobili), Suzanne (Giulia Bertinelli), Ray and Detective Neegro (Francesco Simon), the two will try to stop Crowley from carrying out his diabolical plan.
Bad Better Deads 2 promises lots of horror and action but also healthy fun.
To give a realistic feel to the story, the series will be shot entirely with a shoulder-mounted camera thus following in the footsteps of the found footage (mockumentary) horror movement.
The cast includes a vast number of actors including: Ettore Belmondo, Claudio Camilli, Francesca Nobili, Giulia Bertinelli, Massimiliano Buzzanca, Francesco Simon, Vincenzo Crivello, Valentina Ghetti, Tommaso Busiello, Manuel Rufini, Fabrizio Bordignon and many others. Editing and special effects, on the other hand, will be handled by Pasquale Russo, Luca Vitalone and Giovanni Masotti of Genius Academy in Rome.
Ettore Belmondo will handle production of the series, while executive production will be handled by Mario D'Andrea's MDL Creations.
