On the occasion of the release date, the official trailer of Baba Yaga: Terror of the Dark Forest (aka Yaga. Koshmar tyomnogo lesa), the Russian horror film about "Baba Yaga," a legendary creature from Slavic mythology who was often associated with a witch or enchantress.
Directed by Svyatoslav Podgaevskiy, the director of The Bride and The Mermaid: Lake of the Dead, Baba Yaga: Terror of the Dark Forest will be available for VOD but also on DVD and Blu-ray starting September 1, 2020 with Shout! Factory (US market).
Plot: Having moved into a new apartment on the outskirts of town, a couple hires a nanny to care for the children. Her presence in the home will traumatize the older children, who will be the only ones to notice her malevolent nature. Upset over the disappearance of his little sister and the trance-like state his parents have been induced into, little Egor will try to discover the nanny's true identity.
The screenplay of Baba Yaga: Terror of the Dark Forest is by the director himself in collaboration with Natalya Dubovaya and Ivan Kapitonov.
