Le nuove still dell'horror lovecraftiano Automata (UK – 2018) sono dedicate alla battaglia dei cavalieri spettrali a cavallo, un'intrigante sequenza presente nel film. Automata è diretto da Lawrie Brewster, il regista di The Unkindness of Ravens (2016) and The Black Gloves (2017). Il film è una co-produzione internazionale di Hex Studios e Dark Dunes Productions in associazione con Needle’s Eye Productions e 7 Toes Productions. La data di release è prevista a dicembre 2018.
Protagonista di questo horror gotico è un antiquario che ha il compito di autenticare “La principessa infernale”, una bambola meccanica a grandezza naturale che è stata realizzata trecento anni prima.
Plot: Experienced antiques dealer Brendan Cole (Jamie Scott Gordon) is summoned to the sinister Blackhall Mansion to attest to the authenticity of the Infernal Princess, an ancient automaton whose traces had been lost and which may now prove to be the discovery of the century. The mysterious and fascinating object, however, possesses a diabolical soul, and when its gears begin to turn, Brendan and his stepdaughter will witness monstrous and inconceivable horrors.
