As many as five horror films will be shown in Italian theaters this month. Starting Aug. 1, the Italian horror film The Well by Federico Zampaglione while on the 7th will come Trap by M. Night Shyamalan.
On August 14, 21 and 28 instead will be released respectively the sci-fi horror Alien: Romulus by Fede Alvarez, the horror slasher MaXXXine Of Ti West and gothic horror The Crow by Rupert Sanders.

AUGUST 1: THE WELL
Directed by Federico Zampaglione (Shadow, Tulpa - Deadly Perditions), The Well (2023) is currently in Italian theaters, distributed by Hyperuranium Film.
The Well is played by Lauren LaVera (Terrifier 2), here in the role of Lisa Gray, a young restorer and child of art, who travels to a small Italian village to work on a medieval painting. The artist's life, however, will be in danger because of a curse attached to the work and also because of a monster created and fed by the most extreme pain, imprisoned at the bottom of a well.
The screenplay of The Well is edited by the director himself in collaboration with Stefano Masi (producer of the film together with Mario Pezzi).
In addition to Lauren LaVera, the cast also includes Claudia Gerini (Tulpa), Linda Zampaglione, Lorenzo Renzi (Romanzo criminale - La serie), Melanie Gaydos (Insidious: The Last Key), Stefano Martinelli (Anger of the dead) and Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Fear in the City of the Living Dead, Cannibal Ferox) in his latest performance.
The SFXs, on the other hand, are by Carlo Diamantini (The Tale of Tales).

AUGUST 7: TRAP
The mystery thriller/horror Trap is the new film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Village, And the Day Came, Split, Old) and stars actor Josh Hartnett (30 Days of Darkness) as a serial killer.
Trap will arrive in Italian theaters on Aug. 7 with Warner Bros.
For Trap, M. Night Shyamalan was inspired by the1985 Operation Flagship, a real operation put in place by U.S. marshals to capture fugitives.
The story features an assassin dubbed "The Butcher" who joins his daughter at a concert for pop star Lady Raven but he realizes too late that the event is a trap set by police to catch him.
In the cast of Trap Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills and Allison Pill also appear.
The film is produced by M. Night Shyamalan's Blinding Edge Pictures Production.
AUGUST 14: ALIEN: ROMULUS
Alien: Romulus, the film by Uruguayan director and screenwriter Fede Alvarez (The House - remake, Man in the Dark) is the seventh installment in the sci-fi horror franchise of Alien and is set between the events of Alien and Aliens - Final Clash.
The film will debut in theaters in our country on August 14 distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Italy.
The story, to which much more terrifying aspects have been added, features a group of young space colonists who stumble upon the wreckage of a spaceship inside which hides a xenomorph.
Alien: Romulus is produced by Ridley Scott, the director of the first installment, and stars Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bones), David Jonsson (Agatha Christie's Murder is Easy), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun) and Aileen Wu.
Based on the characters created by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett, the screenplay is by Alvarez himself along with his collaborator Rodo Sayagues (Don't Breathe 2).
AUGUST 21: MAXXXINE
MaXXXine Is the concluding chapter of the slasher horror trilogy X initiated by Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers) with X (2022) and continued with the prequel Pearl (2022).
Written and directed by Ti West, MaXXXine is the sequel to Pearl and is played by Mia Goth, the protagonist of the saga.
The film is produced by A24 and will arrive in Italian theaters on August 21, distributed by Lucky Red.
The story features Maxine Minx, a girl who, after surviving the massacre in X, chases success by being an actress in 1980s Los Angeles. She finally gets her big break but a serial killer obsessed with Hollywood stars leaves a trail of blood that threatens to reveal her sinister past.
In addition to Mia Goth (Suspiria), the cast also includes Kevin Bacon (The Man Without a Shadow), Elizabeth Debicki (The Web of Deception), Lily Collins (Ted Bundy - Criminal Charm), Giancarlo Esposito (The Usual Suspects), Michelle Monaghan (Blood) and Bobby Cannavale (Ant-man).
AUGUST 28: THE CROW
The Crow is the new film adaptation of James O'Barr's comic book already transposed for film by Alex Proyas in 1994 with The Crow, cult film starring the late Brandon Lee.
Produced by Lionsgate and directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), The Crow will arrive in Italian theaters on August 28 with Eagle Pictures.
The film stars Bill Skarsgård (It, It - Chapter Two) as Eric Draven, a musician who is brutally murdered along with his beloved Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs). Given the chance to save his true love, Eric sacrifices himself traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to seek merciless revenge.
They complete the cast of The Crow Danny Huston (30 Days of Night), Laura Birn, FKA Twigs, David Bowles (Army of Thieves), Sami Bouajila, Isabella Wei and Jordan Bolger (Don't Knock Twice).
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Zach Baylin.
