Ash vs. Evil Dead will be the new TV series consisting of ten episodes, based on the trilogy of Evil Dead by Sam Raimi. In this new project, filming of which has already begun in New Zealand, Bruce Campbell returns to the role of Ash.
The series will debut on Starz in the fall. In the cast, in addition to Bruce Campbell, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Jill Marie Jones and Lucy Lawless are confirmed for now.

Sam Raimi will direct the pilot "Ash vs. Evil Dead," an episode whose script is by the director himself along with Ivan Raimi (Darkman, Army of Darkness, Drag Me to Hell), Craig DiGregorio (Workaholics, Chuck) and Tom Spezialy (Chuck, Reaper). Sam Raimi is also the executive producer along with Rob Tapert (Evil Dead).
Other directors involved in the series are: Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane), David Frazee (Orphan Black), Michael Hurst (Xena, Spartacus), Tony Tilse (Underbelly, Xena). Rick Jacobson will be in charge of the final season instead.
Abstract: Thirty years have passed since Ash became involved with the forces of Evil. Throughout this time, he has tried to live a normal life, away from danger but when dark forces threaten to destroy humanity, he is forced to face his demons and once again will find himself battling evil entities.
As reported above, Bruce Campbell will be Ash Williams. Lucy Lawless will play Ruby, a girl who accuses Ash of being the cause of the nefarious events; Ray Santiago is Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash's ally; Dana DeLorenzo is little Kelly Maxwell; Jill Marie Jones ("Sleepy Hollow") is Amanda Fisher, a woman seeking revenge; Mimi Roger is Suzy Maxwell, Kelly's mother.
