Antebellum sarà disponibile su Amazon prime Video a partire dal 14 dicembre 2020.
Il film è prodotto da Sean McKittrick (Scappa: Get Out, Noi), Raymond Mansfield (Scappa: Get Out) e da Zev Foreman (Killer Joe) ed è interpretato da Janelle Monáe e Jena Malone (The Neon Demon, Animali notturni).
Antebellum is built on two different time planes, with two stories that, although very different, are interconnected. The first features an African American woman just before the American War of Secession in 1861. Exploited as a slave in the cotton fields in 1860, she will suffer repeated violence at the hands of slaveholders.
La seconda storia invece si concentra su Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe), autrice di successo e donna in carriera che vive a New York nel 2020. La donna si ritroverà intrappolata in una realtà terrificante e dovrà far luce sul mistero che la avvolge prima che sia troppo tardi.
