In October, filming of Annabelle 3, the new spinoff of the successful saga The Conjuring. In particular, the film's setting but also its timeline was revealed. To shed light on the timeline placement of Annabelle 3 is franchise screenwriter Gary Dauberman who explains that the film is placed before The Conjuring 2, after the beginning of The Conjuring.
The theatrical release of Annabelle 3 has been set for July 3, 2019.
The story of this new chapter takes place in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren, who brought Annabelle into their home after the events of the first The Conjuring. Annabelle 3 shows what happens when the doll becomes part of the artifact room and how it manages to affect the entire environment.
As for the other chapters, however, The Nun is set in 1952, so it is the first film in chronological order. Annabelle 2: Creation comes next because the story takes place in 1955 followed by Annabelle (in 1967) and then by The Conjuring - The Conjuring (in 1971). Finally The Conjuring - The Enfield Case tells a story from 1977.
Produced by James Wan's Atomic Monster in collaboration with Peter Safran, Annabelle 3 will be directed by screenwriter Gary Dauberman, who already wrote the scripts for the first two films in the franchise Annabelle and The Nun. Dauberman was also responsible for the screenplay of It by Andrés Muschietti and the new It: Chapter 2.
