It is currently crowdfunding on the Kickstarter platform Abyzou: Taker of Children, the independent horror project written and directed by Jordan Pacheco. Goal is to reach a goal of $2,000 in order to complete production of the film and finish shooting by summer.
In Abyzou: Taker of Children an attempt will be made to recreate the atmosphere of films such as The Exorcist and Insidious by relying heavily on practical special effects such as those in The House and Nightmare.
Inspired by a recurring nightmare of the director's, the story is rooted in Jewish demonology, specifically about Abyzou, a female demon (a dybbuq) referred to as a "child thief" because, being barren, she takes the children of other women.
Plot: After a romantic trip to Israel, Hailee discovers she is expecting a child with her boyfriend Dylan. Their happiness succumbs to terror when the woman becomes Abyzou's target. The young woman must confront the ancient demon if she is to save her child's soul.
