Released the official trailer for Phobia (Alone), the supernatural horror thriller directed by Rory Douglas Abel (Apathy Breeds Contempt). The director himself is the screenwriter of the film, his first feature, along with Matthew Barnes.
The protagonist of the story is Jonathan MacKinlay (Michael Jefferson), a man who suffers from agoraphobia following the loss of his wife in a car accident. The feeling of fear and oppression he experiences leads him to shut himself up within the walls of his home and thus alienate himself from the rest of the world. Continually tortured by distressing visions and disturbing nightmares, Jonathan begins to no longer distinguish reality from the chaos generated by his waning mind until he becomes convinced that his malaise is caused not by agoraphobia but by the presence of an evil entity in the house.
Of the cast of Phobia include Michael Jefferson, Emma Dubery, Peter Gregus, Sarah Schoofs, Debbie Rochon, Sandra Palmeri, Jason Grimste and Andrew Ruth.
The U.S. release date for Phobia is set for next November 25.
The topic of agoraphobia was recently addressed by Brazilian director Ulisses Da Motta Costa in his short film Kassandra.
