It is called Dead Still the new horror film by brothers Christopher and Philip Adrian Booth, directors of Death Tunnel, ShadowBox and Immortal Island. Having also made a substantial number of films in the documentary genre, the Booth brothers are therefore focusing on a project with the theme of postmortem photography. A tantalizing title given the subject matter, especially for those who appreciate this macabre photographic practice dating back to the Victorian age.
Ben Browder plays Brandon Davis, a wedding photographer who, upon the death of his great-grandfather, inherits a camera much coveted by collectors because it was used in the past to take postmortem photographs. All those who are photographed using the inherited object die under atrocious circumstances and are strangely immortalized already lifeless in the photos. Because of the camera Brandon begins to lose many of his loved ones including his 11-year-old son who disappears without a trace. Determined to get him back, the man will try to stop the curse that has haunted him since the day his relative died.
The cast is not complete but counts the names of Ben Browder, Ray Wise, and Gavin Casalegno.
Dead Still will be broadcast by the American television channel SyFy on October 6 for the 31 Days of Halloween program.
