A Classic Horror Story: backstage video.

After the poster and the official trailer, Netflix has released, online, the backstage video of A Classic Horror Story (Italy - 2021), the horror film written and directed by Roberto De Feo (The Nest) and newcomer Paolo Strippoli.
Produced by Colorado Film, A Classic Horror Story was shot entirely in Puglia and Rome over five weeks of filming and will have its world premiere at the Taormina Film Fest (held June 27-July 3) before arriving on the Netflix platform on July 14.

As the title suggests, A Classic Horror Story is "a classic horror story" that is, an homage to horror cinema in which all the clichés of the genre converge. In the featurette, Roberto De Feo himself explains that "The idea comes somewhat from the classic of classics that is Evil Dead by Sam Raimi. I won't hide the fact that I've been looking for more than a decade for a story that would allow me to confront a classic horror movie: the classic story of the group of guys who set out in the classic RV and in the middle of the night come across the carcass of the classic dead deer. I am glad that you were able to create a world that started from clichés and arrived at something completely new".

Plot: Five people are on board an RV to reach the same destination. During the journey at night, they crash into a tree and lose consciousness in the impact. When they regain their senses, they find themselves near a dense forest, far from the road on which they were traveling. In the middle of a clearing, the group finds a wooden house inside which are several representations depicting creatures and/or people with strange masks.
After discovering that adherents of a sinister cult congregate at the facility, the five individuals will begin to wonder how they ended up there and whether they can trust each other to try to escape from the nightmare in which they are trapped.

A Classic Horror Story stars Matilda Lutz (Revenge), Francesco Russo, Peppino Mazzotta, Will Merrick, Yuliia Sobol, Alida Baldari Calabria, Cristina Donadio, Francesca Cavallin and Justin Korovkin. The last two actors are the leads in The Nest- The Nest, Roberto De Feo's previous feature film.
The two directors co-wrote the script for the film with Lucio Besana, Milo Tissone and David Bellini.
