According to Entertainment Weekly, Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella) have stated that their Escape from New York For 20Th Century Studios will not be remaking the Carpenterian masterpiece 1997: Escape from New York (1981).

Recall that the Radio Silence are the directors of Southbound - Autostrada per l'inferno, Till death do us part, Scream (2022) e Scream 6 (2023), respectively the fifth and sixth installments of the famous slasher saga started in 1996 by Wes Craven.
